To use Radio Management in programming radios via Wi-Fi, perform the following steps:

1. Set up an Operational Wi-Fi Access Point

  1. The radio must be connected to an operational Wi-Fi Access Point to program the radio through Wi-Fi connection.

2. Connect a Device Programmer (DP) to the operational Wi-Fi access point

  1. The Device Programmer must be installed on a machine with network (LAN) connection to the Wi-Fi Access Point.

DotGreen.png   Note: If the Out-of-the-Box Wi-Fi Provisioning option (QA09001/GA09001)  has been ordered along with the radios, please refer to the Out-of-the-Box Provisioning Over Wi-Fi  to review the steps to initially provision the radios over Wi-Fi in a secure manner. Otherwise please refer to the following steps below.

3. Add radios to Radio Management via the Radio Management Client (RMC). (see Adding a New Radio to Radio Management)

4. Schedule a read job for the radios via RMC (see Schedule a Job window)

5. Configure the CPS Wi-Fi related fields to enable Wi-Fi programming

  1. The following fields values must be configured in the CPS :

Please refer to The Wi-Fi Page for more information regarding these fields.

       b.    For recommendations regarding the Wi-Fi setup, please refer to the Recommended Procedure for Radio Management Over Wi-Fi.

6. Schedule a write job for the radios via RMC (see Schedule a Job window)

  1. The Connection Method field must be set as "USB + Wireless (LAN)"  to support Wi-Fi Connection.

7. Connect each radio to the Device Programmer (DP) via USB cable to program the radio. After the programming is complete, you can connect the radio to the Wi-Fi hotspot.
